The Guild School is a nonsectarian special education school that serves approximately fifty students, who travel to the school from all five boroughs of New York City and throughout the metropolitan area, aged five through 21, who are visually impaired and have additional disabilities. The Subsomboonpittayacom School is located in a remote area of North Central Thailand, in the Wangprajob District in Muang Tak, in the outskirts of the city of Tak, one hundred and fifty kilometers from the Thailand-Burma border. The children who attend this school live in the surrounding rice fields and farmland, are of low socioeconomic status, and travel long distances walking/cycling to school in unpaved roads.
