Ann Price
Treasurer
Dr. Ann Price is a former Nursery School Teacher, and is now an Adult and Child Psychiatrist. She holds staff appointments in the University of Connecticut Department of Psychiatry and Hartford Hospital Department of Psychiatry. As an expert in Child Development, Dr. Price has extensive experience with consultation to school systems and has done so in several states. Her particular interest has been helping children with psychiatric disabilities be maintained in regular classrooms, making herself available as a mental health professional on site to all staff that are involved in the child’s education process.
She has also served as an expert witness in several states and has helped to develop standards of care for children who need psychiatric interventions. In the past she served on the Board of the American Academy of Psychoanalysis as Trustee and Treasurer. Dr. Price presently is Vice President of Medical Affairs at a nonprofit clinic that serves adults and children with chronic and severe mental illnesses. She also sees children in her private practice in West Hartford. Dr. Price is a firm believer of the importance of early childhood art education as a vehicle to aid in a child achieving his or her maximal potential.
